Interview with the no 1 player of Witcher: Versus

Interview with Micha, the first player who conquered rank 1 in the browsergame The Witcher: Versus and who still defends it.

The-Witcher.de: How long have you been no. 1 of the The Witcher: Versus ranking?
Micha: I don't know exactly but I think I took the lead in September, about two months after the launch of Versus in July 2008.

The-Witcher.de: Are there any challenges left when you are level 30?
Micha: There are tournaments, clan-events and lots of exciting duels against equal opponents. Meanwhile we know each other form the tavern, our off-topic inn in the official forum and we have lots of fun when we fight.

The-Witcher.de: Why did you decide for the sorceress? Have you tried the other characters, the witcher and the frightener? Is there anything you don't like of these classes?
Micha: I liked the sorceress right from the beginning most of all. Maybe that's because the sorceress harmonized well together with my nick I use to have in my real life roleplay group. I haven't tried yet one of the other classes. But I can't tell you why, it was a gut decision.

The-Witcher.de: You are member of a Versus clan. How many nations are in your clan and where do they come from?
Micha: I joined the FEAR-Clan. We have members from England, Russia, Rumania, Palestine and Germany. We also have members from Poland but recently they are quite inactive for the clan.

The-Witcher.de: How many friends and relatives did you convince to join The Witcher: Versus?
Micha: To tell the truth: none. My brother in law recently started to play The Witcher PC game. I'm not that kind of person who harps on friends they have to do this or that.

The-Witcher.de: How much time do you spend on the duels an clan cases?
Micha: That are two or three hours everyday. Though most of the time I spend my time with chatting to friends in the taverns. It's pretty exciting to meet people from around the world. Since we have Palestinian in our clan, there is a different relationship to the conflict in Middle East.

The-Witcher.de: What do you like most of Versus and what could be improved?
Micha: I love the idea to have firsthand duels. I think it could be easier to advance in the ranking system. You could purchase the items easier as well. It should be more attractive for low level players to challenge high level players.
I'm preparing a kind of league system for level 30 players with the purpose to invent a new event.

The-Witcher.de: Something completely new? Please enligthen us.
Micha: The intension is to build up a league of level 30 players similar as a football league. Everyone fights against everyone. The results are documented in a special chart. I hope many get enthusiastic of this idea and eventually we have climbers and releagtion in various leagues. Right now the chart is deserted. I just introduce the new project.

The-Witcher.de: Many players complain it's a kind of "rock-paper-scissors" chance if you win or lose. What is your opinion? Will you tell us an insider tip without revealing too much of your own strategy?
Micha: Sure, luck plays a part in the duels. But if you play your cards right luck is on your side. For example by assuming how many "Fury" and "Elements" your opponent has in use, you may conclude his attacks and you adjust your defence resp. offence to it.

The-Witcher.de: You are involved in the "Outbreak" event as well. What is your ranking there and may we expect it's high ranking as well?
Micha: I have the "bersek" title right now. There is just one higher title, but I doubt anyone may achieve it without cheating until the "Outbreak" is over. The odds are that the Order of the Flaming Rose wins. If Witcher: Versus gets a new class it's probably an order-class.

The-Witcher.de: Your mission is to fight as many duels with the opposing fraction. The fraction who takes most victories wins, resp. the Order breaks down the "Outbreak" of the Scoia'tael?
Micha: Yes, and the reward for the victorious fraction should be a new class for their side. Some months ago there was a poll in the Versus forum, asking for new classes including suggestions how to skill them.

The-Witcher.de: You fight on the Scoia'tael's side. Are you a true worshipper of the non-humans or did you play with the idea to become a traitor and change the side?
Micha: I'm always on the side of the suppressed and lawless poeple. It's out of question to change the side not for all money in the world.

The-Witcher.de: Do you have defectors in your fraction? Do you trust them or do you suspect them of being still in favour of the Order?
Micha: I can't really judge this though I think some players change sides because they think they advance better in ranking. However there is a slowdown in this case which I notice of the lack of activity in the taverns of the Order and the Scoia'tael. "Outbreak" was planed for three months and it's still running.

The-Witcher.de: CD Projekt RED and one2tribe prepare a new The Witcher: Versus event. You are one of the beta testers. Without violation of your NDA, please tell us in one sentence what the Versus community may expect.
Micha: There will be premium content. You can buy additional features which give you light advantage but this hasn't much influence on player who aren't interested in premium content. More I can't tell you, stay tuned. For the time being you can watch this trailer of the forthcoming mega patch.

The-Witcher.de: Thank you very much and good luck on your outbreak missions.
